A report produced by the Czech Republic research team of the Global Media and Internet Research Project

This report analyzes revenue and market concentration in the Czech media, internet, and telecommunications industries from 2019 to 2022. The sector grew by 28.4% to 201.15 CZK billion, driven by a 123.9% surge in core internet applications. Digital media saw the fastest growth, with online video up 184.6% and digital music streaming 227.6%, while physical media declined due to COVID-19. Internet advertising became the top revenue source (53.09 CZK billion), surpassing wireless and broadcast TV. Unlike other markets, Czech broadcast TV remained strong, with ad revenue growing 13.6% despite the rise of streaming services.
