GMICP Project Researcher Blue Dong has been elected as the International Communication Association’s Communication Law & Policy division’s International Liaison. Her role officially commences after the conclusion of ICA Gold Coast conference in 2024.

Blue is a PhD student at Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada. Her role as an International Liaison involves committing to a two-year role, the main job of which is to gather thoughts and concerns from members, particularly those from diverse backgrounds. It’s essential to ensure that newcomers feel included, especially during large events. This feedback is then shared with the association’s leadership, such as the chair or vice-chair. Additionally, the International Liaison will collaborate with various association groups to tackle shared challenges and ensure everyone’s needs are addressed.

Blue has been with the GMICP since 2021, helping to launch the project, and continues to contribute to its success.

Congratulations, Blue!
