Abit Hoxha | Researcher
University of Agder
With expertise spanning both academic research and applied practice, Abit engages in scholarly discussions on transitional societies while also training journalists in sensitive reporting. He has previously worked with prominent international organizations including UNDP, UNFAO, the World Bank, and UN Women in Kosovo and Western Balkans.
Abit is currently completing his PhD at LMU Munich, Germany, where his dissertation, “Conflict News Production,” examines journalistic news production across the Western Balkans, the Middle East, and the Great Lakes region of Sub-Saharan Africa. Through reconstructive interviews with journalists, his research explores the influences shaping news production and the processes by which news comes into being.

Kenneth Andresen | Researcher
University of Agder
Kenneth Andresen (PhD) is Professor of media studies at University of Agder in Norway. He holds a doctorate in media Studies from the University of Oslo. His research and publications over 25 years has been the fields of international journalism and media development, especially in relation to historical conflicts in Europe. He has been Work Package Leader in several international research projects, including two Horizon Europe projects; RePAST 2018-2021 (Revisiting the PAST, Anticipating the future) and ReMeD 2022-2026 (Resilient Media for Democracy in the Digital Age). He has also led research funded by the Norwegian Research Council. His PhD Thesis is an investigation into the development and influences in journalism in Kosovo, titled Journalism under pressure. The case of Kosovo (2015). He has published several articles on journalism in conflict areas, with topics like; fixers (2008 & 2020), protocol news (2009), news events (2012), transitional journalism (2017 & 2020), journalism education (2019), journalistic cultures (2019), journalism and revisionism (2025), and solidarity among journalists (2025). He has also published works on virtual tours (2022), troubled past in Europe (2023), and dark tourism (2024). He also conducted research on the postcard as an early social medium, and he is a devoted collector of historical postcards from Kosovo.
